Take your X-IT Emergency Fire Escape Ladder™ out of its box. Put it within
easy reach in a nearby closet, under a bed or close to the window designated
for an emergency escape. Keep the instructions close to the ladder and review
them regularly. Be sure that you and your family have practiced using your
X-IT Emergency EscapeLadder from a first story window not more than 6 feet
above the ground as preparation for an emergency.

In an emergency, position the Ladder in the center of an unblocked windowsil.
Please use extreme caution to ensure that the ladder is secure
before descending.

OPEN the X-IT Emergency Fire Escape Ladder™ cover and take out the "hook."

HOOK your X-IT Emergency Fire Escape Ladder™ to the inside of your window.

DROP your X-IT Emergency Fire Escape Ladder™ outside your window, ensuring the stand-offs are facing towards you and the hook is fixed securely to the inside of your window. Your ladder will extend under its own weight.
